Some Idoma women from Owukpa in Ogbadibo local government area of Benue State have risen against a recent change in their culture where a woman is now buried in her husband’s house against the extant culture where such deceased wife would be taken to her father’s house for interment.

The traditional ruler of the Idoma tribe in Benue State, HRM, Chief Elias Ekoyi Obekpa has stated that over 10 villages in his kingdom are still under the siege of rampaging Fulani herdsmen. According to the Och’Idoma, the affected villages include, Ocholoyan, Akpeko, Olegomakwu, Olegoyinlo, Nahim and Olegotekwu among others.
